Pray for Eli

*****UPDATE (7/17)******
Okay so we went today for the ultra-sound!!! Everything looks great!!! He just has severe reflux and he should grow out of it eventually!!! PRAISE GOD!!!! Also the new hypo-allergenic formula has done wonders for the little guy too. His skin has cleared up and he even slept 8.5 hours last night with out groaning or making a single noise. I'm so happy!!! Okay well keep checking to how he keeps growing!

Well today we had to take Eli to the doctor. About 10 days ago he started getting a rash and to be honest I just thought it was baby acne or cradle cap spreading to his face and shoulders. Well it just kept getting worse and just plan yucky looking. So last night, after a full day of him crying and just acting uncomfortable, I decided I would call the doctor's office to see what they thought about it. They decided they wanted to see him and check it out for themselves. Well we got there and he definetly had a rash and he almost "spit-up" for them. Oh yeah that is another problem we're having. Let me go there first before I go further. Okay so we went for his two month check up and I talked with the doctor about his spitting up and how often it was and how much I thought it was. The doc informed me that he probably had acid reflux and to do all these crazy things like elevating his crib and so on. She didn't want to do medicine because he was maintaining his weight at this point. So she said she'd watch it and if we noticed anything changing to all her and we'd discuss things if we needed to. Okay now back to what I was saying earlier...okay so he spit up for them and the doc was quite impressed by the amount and how far it went. So she decided to discuss this first before seeing the rash. She decided that he Eli would need an ultrasound to determine if his stomach muscles were formed correctly and to see if he has this disorder where a muscle or something forms incorrectly and then causes things that go in his stomach to "shoot" out. She also suggested giving him smaller amounts of formula more often and to add some rice to it to help thicken it up and take longer to digest. This will help with the spitting up. Well after this she took his shirt off and started discussing the rash. And she wasn't happy about it. She said he has a severe case of Eczema and she believes that is coming from an allergy of some sort (soy protein, milk protein, etc.). She said that she also wanted us to try a hypo-allergenic formula as well. She said that the allergy from all of that will cause the eczema and the spitting up like that. So overall we are going to try the hypo-allergenic formula at smaller amounts with cereal in them. Just pray that it is just that and that there is nothing wrong with the stomach muscles. Okay well just wanted to update on this and get all of you praying for him and us as this was a huge shock (that formula is a bit pricey).
