Our life as been really busy the past couple of weeks. As you read in the previous post we went to Emerald Isle, NC with my family for a few days. We brought my cousin Dillon back with us and he was with us for about 9 days, then we drove him to Fayetteville, NC to meet his mom. After that we headed back to Columbia for a few days before we headed to good ole Titusville, Florida for a two week vacation. So do you agree we've been busy?
Any ways our trip to Florida started a little crazy after Tropical Storm Fay put our departure a day late. Then once we left and got into Jacksonville I-95 was closed due to flooding so we had a minor detour. But overall it started well. Other than that our adventures started as soon as we arrived. On Saturday we celebrated my nephew Parker's first birthday. It was fun watching Isaac play with all the "little" kids. On Sunday we went to visit a sweet church that our friend Kevin Wright started (www.myfaithcity.org) and it was neat seeing him and his family serving God. After church we headed to Downtown Disney to visit some special friends, Trevor and Arden Christmas. They were in Orlando for a family reunion and since they live in California and were so close we had to visit them. They're the type of friends you never see but when you do it feels like you've been with them everyday. We are blessed to know them and thank God for them. Any ways on Tuesday of our trip, we headed to Disney World's Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom. Isaac had never been there before and we knew he would LOVE it, and he did. It was a blast watching him experience it all for the first time.
While we were in Florida we also got to celebrate my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. All of my dads siblings came in and we spent a whole weekend together. The first event took place at Seaworld where we attended a Luau. It was a blast. Isaac got a tattoo and then went up on stage to hula dance. Then the cheif chose my dad to come up on stage to do some funny things. After that they honored my grandparents anniversary and then they opened a scrapbook that the family put together of my grandparents as teenagers to now. It is amazing!
When we finished there my Uncle Greg, Aunt Stephanie (who did I say hates roller coasters) and I rode the Kracken (roller coaster at Seaworld!!! It was amazing fun!!! And the picture tells it all.
Then on Saturday we had family pictures taken, which I will post once we get them. And then after the pictures we went to the hotel where out of town family was staying and surprised my grandparents with all their siblings coming in for the celebration. On Sunday me, Barry, and the boys went to the beach, just the four of us. It was Eli's first real time at the beach and in the water. It was windy, but fun. Isaac literally played in the water the whole time. We all boggie boarded and had fun. Eli didn't much care for the water, but overall he enjoyed it.
We ended our trip to Florida with a wonderful visit with Nanny and Aunt Jackie. We only get to see them a few times a year and we enjoy it everytime. We love you guys!!!
Well that is what we has been going on with us the past few weeks. We're back in Columbia and hope all of you had a very enjoyable summer.
